It’s either Macintosh Computer Day, or National Irish Coffee Day. So kick back with an Irish Coffee and talk smack about how Macintoshes are crappy computers for digital dummies. Or are they?

Apple's latest laptops are the worst the company has ever made for 4 major reasons. Apple's laptops that come with USB-C ports are bad. They have unreliable keyboards, they're difficult and costly to repair, they only have USB-C ports, and high-end models don't achieve their maximum potential.

But is it worth the price? Well, if you need a true workhorse of a laptop and you want to stay in the Apple ecosystem, I'd say this MacBook Pro is very much worth the price. Frankly, even if you're not in the Apple ecosystem, this machine is worth the switch if you need a powerful laptop.
I find that most people who don't like Macs have never used one. When I hear people say things like "The Cult of Mac" or "Apple Fanboy" I just laugh. As if there isn't Church of PC or the Cult of Windows.
I'll tell you when Windows lost me. I was Art Director at a large print firm. The Windows 95 update came on 13 diskettes and took over an hour to load. The OS updates the artists got in around the same time came on a CD and took less than 5 minutes to accomplish. I ditched my personal PC as soon as I could, went Mac, and never looked back, though I've had to work on both in every job position.
Sure, you can't work on them yourself. Sure, they're a closed system. Sure, they suck at gaming, (or at least at games for the Windows platform,) but I don't game on a computer. That's what my Playstation is for.
They're dead simple, easy to use, and are ready to go right out of the box, with is prolly why the fiddly hands-on and "computer genius" types don't like them. Right after someone stole my new laptop right at the start of the pandemic, I dug this old 2010 MacBook Pro out o the closet, popped in some extra memory, and swapped out the old HD for a larger SSD drive. Yeah, a dozen years old beater and still rocking and rolling, though I'll likely get a newer one soon. Not new, just newer, from some fanboy who has to have the latest.
That said, I never liked Irish Coffee. That whole "cream over the back of a spoon" thing always seemed silly to me. Pretentious. Besides, I prefer Black or White Russians, or just pouring Scotch into coffee, though I haven't had a drink in over three decades.
