The #winter #solstice is the longest night and the shortest day of the year, and it has been carrying a very, very strong symbolism for thousands of years. It’s the milestone, that symbolizes the end of darkness and the birth of the sun, because after this day, there will be more and more daylight during the next 180 days, until the summer solstice.

We love this day because winter solstice means, basically, the beginning of the bright days — despite there will still be about two months of winter, the days will be longer.

Of course, this day has a spiritual meaning for all Pagans around the world, but of course, you can celebrate it even if you aren’t Pagan or Wiccan. You can host a party for your friends, hold rituals (like a blessed Yule ritual), eat special meals and products (nuts, mutton, rice cakes, wontons, etc.), decorate your house with mistletoe and pine cones… And of course, you can send some cool winter solstice pics and greeting cards to your friends on Facebook. The best of these pics and cards are already here, so check them out right now!
