Good morning from Missouri!

I’ve been very absent from Diaspora and the #CheckIn space, but today I’ll be guest host. Hope everyone is doing well and I wish nothing but good for ya’ll.

I’ve been thinking about social media and more specifically the internet lately. So much has changed in my lifetime around how we use the internet and how we communicate. Email used to be king and Yahoo Groups was his queen. I can remember logging into Juno email on their desktop program that allowed the sending and receiving of messages without a prolonged internet connection. It would simply connect via modem just long enough to send and receive. And that was a free service and was installed via a CD. Then there was mIRC and ICQ for instant messaging. Different, different times.

What about you? What do you recall being your first communication tools of choice over the internet?
