The country that's always been called "The Borderland" because it was neither Russia nor Western Europe. And so the name stuck, translated to "U Kraina" - "The Borderland". It was its own entity and deserves to be treated as such.
I'm forever grateful to my late mother who saved me from the horrors I would be facing right now had she not immigrated to Canada and I'm grateful for being able to express all of this without the fear of being detained, arrested or "disappeared"
Stay wonderful, Ukraine! And I'm sorry on behalf of other powerless people out there.
