Potsdam, das chinesische Haus im Park Sanssouci

In arger Verklärung von unbekannten, aber modisch beliebten Gegenden der Welt hat sich Potsdam einst das chinesische Tee-Haus in den Park Sanssouci gestellt. Gestern hab ich nochmal nachgeguckt.

Fun anecdote: showing this building to visitors from Taiwan (and I imagine from most any region in East Asia) regularly elicits laughter and disbelief. Well, I am amused too. This _is_ how late 18th century artists and architects objectified their own contemplations of an imagined China. Can't help it. Europe is weird sometimes.
