Some anarchists are interested in self-organizing systems, for obvious reasons. I came across an article describing the work of a scientist who is interested in what I guess would be called urban traffic engineering and has (he says) gotten some positive results applying the principles of self-organization to traffic problems -- the opposite approach to the one usually practiced, which relies on authority, regulation, and policing. The article may give practical insights to those interested in finding non-coercive, non-authoritarian ways of organizing human societies on a larger scale.
