As some of you may know, Japan still has entry restrictions for foreigners and also has halted issuing of (long term) visa. This makes it really bad for students and researchers. They have no chance to experience the country firsthand.
The student council of the university of Heidelberg for Asian studies imitated an open letter to the Japanese ambassador in Germany on the Resumption of Visa.
It would be cool if you could sign this and/or forward this to people or local institutions in the academic world who might also be affected by this.
