PBS NewsHour had on a social media expert talking about the blue and grey check-mark debacle. All fun for some. Horror for others.
Checking Mastodon just now, still without followers, faves, etc. but just taking in the platform's features and new arrivals...
Just saw my first sign that a large former-twitterbug is settling in, and easily fitting into to the "microblog" format after years in the 280 character Twitter. Wonder how this will display using their "share" button. If it displays as I see it, it's a decent example of Mastodon, here displaying a post from a different instance within that Fediverse. (It's not diaspora* network or protocol, but they speak of Federation and it's the same sort of "sharing between pods", but different. ;) Big selling point &/or new idea to ponder, federation.
And it does seem true "public" if you can see this.
