Some residents of a town in southern Illinois town were ordered to evacuate after severe weather brought water to the brink of rolling over a dam. About 300 people were in the evacuation zone, but the entirety of Nashville, Illinois faced flash floods, with the National Weather Service reporting 5-7 inches (12.7-17.8 centimeters) of rain over an eight-hour period.
