Hello, hello! Well, during this gift buying season, adults buying toys for other adults, or for themselves, are the biggest segment of growth for the toy industry. Apparently, during the pandemic adults rediscovered the joy of having toys and playing. Even though the pandemic is over, the trend of adults indulging in toys is growing. Also, playing is becoming a more common group connection activity e.g. prior to Ted Talks. What’s your view on toys and play? What are/were your favourite toys and games?

But before I go, I love getting a sense of what's happening where Checkineers live. What's a local event that's happening, just happened or about to happen where you are? You have the complete freedom to define your region - it can be your neighbourhood, city, region, country or time zone. You get to define what 'event' means too. 😂😂😂
What's happening locally for me? This is the beach where the annual frigid January 1st Polar Bear swim takes place. But for a very short period of time, this place which seems remote for most of the year gets packed (this pic was taken on a quiet week day) with people having fun in the sun and water. Besides groups of people who come play and share meals together, the very popular Swim Club, Sail Cub, Rowing Club and Paddle Shack all swing into action too.
