an emergence, surface
sun rippled
as I get closer to its fragrance,
it vanishes emptiness
manifests,
in place of the water lily
fragrant;
in the measureless distance!
peace settles
fills emptiness, in the fullness, mind settles,
caressed by emptiness, O thou endless peace!
ones who had been there before, some say,
they vanished into the thin horizon

*Sky
a January sky
a 2020, the western woods uniformly
bathed in morning sun, a sliver screen see through
lain over woods,
sublimin-
al;
of the northern woods, different moods,
blotchy light,
splotch of remarkable intensity,
crowds of upper limbs rise, bathing in intermediary light
tell tale signs of night,
in the interim
light plays on mind tentatively, a breath is held,
until the northern appears, like the western woods
subliminal
during the interval
descends a darkness
I withdraw, the empty throne
sits unoccupied,
turning the tables, was it ever meant to
be
occupied?
