iChing pull / seems appropriate for the day too...

Neil Young. Live. 20 Years ago. A favorite song, many may know well, but this concert recording is new to me. And wow.

Neil Young - Cortez the Killer - Hamburg Germany April 28 2003

A song about a killer 'dancing across the water' to conquer a peaceful people.. But even without the story ... As one of the comments says, he is definitely "in the zone". Of harmony. Like the Aztecs.

Just listen to the sound & it's texture, how he bends & caresses the notes & harmonics here, solo - just him, his guitar & his voice.

I'll add the lyrics (below) .... But listen to the sound too. That is his thing, in addition to the stories, harmony & harmonics.
Plus wicked guitar and harmonica. With tenderness as well as edge. One of the greats of the 60s-70s-80s-90s....

And...
Joe Walsh, Pt. 3/3

This track/album was not obtainable for a while, as Ravel's ghost objected (copyright issues).
But I have long loved this song medley - especially how he launches into Bolero. 🎸 🎧
Listen loud w/ big speakers or headphones to fully appreciate. Almost like how it sounded live. (Lots of echo, delay, on solos)

The Bomber A: Closet Queen B: Bolero C: Cast Your Fate To The Wind (Medley)

No, it's not another "Funk" at the beginning.... just similar, his style (like Fogerty of CCR, with his driving chugga chugga chugga)

Joe Walsh, Pt. 2/3

Saw/re-posted "Funk #49" the other day, performed with Ringo at his 80th Birthday (tnx Netwitch). I was looking for another "ear worm" favorite from James Gang, and came across this, an excellent "three'fer". (triple song fer the price of one). The first funk too!
( #48 )

So here's a triad of Joe Walsh tracks:

🎶 🎸 🎧

JAMES GANG: Walk Away, Funk 48 AND Funk 49) THREE SONGS!! HQ

For those not familiar with this ancient music history, Joe Walsh - he became the guitar guy with the Eagles (like Paul McCartney's old band was Beatles)... The other song I was looking for was one I saw live, with lots of echo/delay (as he played along with himself, live), and it went into a very memorable version of Bolero, which got the album pulled back from distribution and pulled off radio (copyright issues!).

Stay tuned for part 3 - will post separate so player will display.

JAMES EUGENE "JIM" SEALS ⭐️

(17 October 1941 – 06 June 2022)

FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS ❤️

~ Rest In Eternal Peace ~

“This is a hard one on so many levels as this is a musical era passing for me,” said musician and colleague John Ford Coley on Facebook. “And it will never pass this way again, as his song said. He belonged to a group that was one of a kind. I am very sad over this but I have some of the best memories of all of us together. Rest In Peace Jimmy.”

Together with Dash Crofts, Seals helped define soft rock in the 1970s. Their first major hit was Summer Breeze in 1972, selling over a million copies. The next year saw the release of Diamond Girl which was also a hit, making it to No 4 in the US.

You will always live in our hearts ~ Your beautiful voice and music will be with us eternally

Accidental find, bubbled up out of nowhere. (Probably YouTube saw me looking at The Little Prince!)

This is... Fleetwood Mac. The original, More like John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers than the Fleetwood Mac of Rhiannon days.

Fleetwood Mac w. Peter Green - Homework -

This is actually a good example of the sound I associate with "original Fleetwood Mac" in their early days, distinctive in its way. But far from Buckingham/Nicks sound, far ahead in the (Version 2.2) Fleetwood Mac. 1968
