Hacking Diaspora: How to preview comments w/ Markdown
I like Markdown. I really, really like it.
But it's hard to get right the first time. Especially for a longer comment.
But unlike posts, you cannot hit "preview" in your comment to see how your formatted content will look.
Oh, wait a second. You can see how your format will look if you compose it as a post.
So why not do that: open a new tab, copy your comment into a post. Hit "preview" to see what it will look like. If it's not what you want, re-edit and re-preview.
One more hack: create a new aspect, "me", and don't add anyone to it. Set your pot to "me" and if you accidentally hit the "Share" button, at least you won't have spammed your contacts with it. (I suppose you could also name the aspect "preview", and reserve "me" for other uses.)
Just a thought.
