Seen today on a #hike in south #Ottawa a pair of White-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus). These were a doe and her fawn and they were in a hurry.
Scenes from a #hike in #Gatineau #Park today with @Kathryn Barr. We hiked to the ruins of Carbide Willson's mill. Built in 1907, it was where he invented a method for the the condensation of phosphoric acid in the manufacture of fertilizers.
A lot of fun, and totally exhausted after. Took a day to recover. There are some beautiful trails in Sedona. We ended our trip with dinner at Black Bear Diner.
It was on the warm side and I'm glad we brought plenty of water. The trail we chose was longer than expected so a couple of us were at our limit near the end. Stumbling into a rattlesnake gave us the adrenaline to finish the last leg of the trail.
