Montana doctor faked cancer diagnoses, resulting in deaths from chemotherapy, opiods, barbituates
OMG. Just OMG. Long, but fascinatingly terrible read. A real warning not to blindly trust doctors.
This doctor also changed patients' codes to DNR without permission gave fatal doses of pheonbarbitol to patients, never ran biopsies, all the while earning a huge salary because he pretty much ran the hospital's cancer center and saw all the patients. Sometimes 15 of them within 30 minutes, which raised suspicions, but no real investigation was done - until a young doctor discovered a patient who had been treated for 11 years for lung cancer that wasn't there - and then died from the chemo.
If the residents of Helena had seen those files, they would know how Weiner built a high-volume business that billed as much as possible to public and private insurance, all the while sending numerous patients through a carousel of unnecessary and life-threatening treatments. They would have learned that the hospital had financial incentives to look away.
