I'm planning on attending another nearby #pride2024 celebration tomorrow afternoon. It's about an hour's drive each way, and runs from noon until 10pm. I'm hopeful that I will have the requisite #spoons in order to go the day. Last time, the crowds didn't overwhelm me, which I was pleased by. I assume that had a lot to to do with being around my tribe.
So if you don't hear from me tomorrow, it's all good. It means I'm having fun. 😊

When your whole world screams at you, from the day you’re born, that you’re bad, you’re wrong, and that you should be ashamed of yourself… well, it’s hard to not believe that. The omnipresence of a belief based on social stigma makes it almost impossible to avoid picking up at least some of it. This is called self-stigma, and self-stigma is the mother-category of all sorts of really awful things, from internalized racism to internalized transphobia to any number of self-reinforcing self-hating beliefs. And self-stigma is bad. Really bad.

It's very important to me that younger queers understand this: to the people who you're trying to be more respectable for when you say things like neopronouns set the trans movement back or you're why the cishets don't accept us or including [aces/bi people with the 'wrong kind' of partners/non-binary people/kinksters/non-passing trans ppl/furries/polyam people] just hurts us, can't you wait until we get all our rights before we talk about some of yours? -- to those people? Pete Buttigieg is just a fag.
I attended the local Pride celebration on Saturday, 1-June-2024. It was my first Pride since 2012, back in Houston.

And just a few days ago, Target announced a more limited range of Pride merchandise based on “guest insight and consumer research,” and far fewer physical locations hosting displays and offerings. This is an explicit response to the harassment Target faced during last year’s Pride Month, where some very loud people made noise about something very few cared about prior, at least not until trans issues became more prominent.
