#ShowerThought : meteor showers as a service.
Natural meteor showers are finding it difficult to compete with modern light pollution. Specks of dust and sand can only illuminate briefly and are in supply at disadvantageous times.
Modern rocketry allows us to boost satellites and other payloads into orbit and beyond. Meteor service satellites could hold payloads of custom "gravel works" loaded with copper, titanium, and other colorants. Imagine targeted meteor showers, carefully timed to coincide with football games, elections, or other major events.
Of course, such a system would be practically identical to a space weapon that could disable other satellites... but let's ignore that inconvenient aspect and just enjoy the fantasy.

The mystery of old posts and new comments

Has any of you noticed how sometimes very old posts, sometimes months old, sometimes years old, are somehow magnets of new comments. Every now and then I get a notification in Diaspora about a comment being made on a post I participated in, and to my surprise it is a very old post, where most comments were written a long time ago. For some reason, new users keep appearing and sporadically commenting on them.

Why is this? Has Diaspora fractured the space-time continuum? Is it a glitch in the Matrix? Are we on a simulation?
