AI development is the fastest road to idiocracy - by Tove K

#politics #AI #society

What can't a computer do? Most of all, it can't take responsibility and be accountable. And the demand for accountability is limitless. There is always something that could work better than it does. The solution seems to be to make a person accountable for handling every little problem. They are tasked with checking that nothing goes wrong, in any area where something can go wrong. They become building inspectors who are supposed to make sure that people don't build things wrong, social workers that are supposed to make sure that people don't parent wrong, health inspectors who make sure restaurants don't poison people, environmental inspectors who are supposed to make sure the environment does not get degraded, animal inspectors who are supposed to make sure that animals are are not treated wrongly.

Most couples just can't be happy - by Tove K

#society #future

In our current hyper-individualistic society, people are supposed to be true to their feelings when choosing mating strategies. So many high-status men are honest about wanting to have several sexual partners. On the other side, many women are honest that they only want a partner who can truly meet their needs. Both sexes have pulled away in their respective directions and the middle ground where they can meet has shrunk.

A Time We Never Knew - by Freya India - After Babel

#society #youth #health

“This feels nostalgic despite me not even existing during this time.”

“The whole concept of a real ‘childhood’ is completely out the window at this point in time and that’s extremely sad to me. Btw I’m 15, born in 2003.”

“I’m 20 years old so I wasn’t even conceived at the time of this video but it leaves me feeling empty. My highschool experience was nothing like this. I remember short bursts of people living in the moment but EVERYTHING revolved around our phones, Snapchat/Instagram status. It almost makes me angry because I’ve never had simple straight forward interaction as shown in this video. Even looking at people in the background, they are completely present and not buried in their phones. Everyone seemed a lot more social. I’m jealous of millennials/gen x, yall experienced a golden time to be young and free.”

We look for loneliness inside our heads when its source lies all around us, in the destruction of collective life, the erosion of communal bonds, the ruin of civil society, the squeezing of public spaces

"The #plandemic was used as a false pretext by the #WHO to drive vaccinations of all peoples in the world."

This is the ugly truth behind the vaccine push during the Covid pandemic.

The end goal isn't our health, but to boost #profits and #control #society.

Many thanks, very important, and here's the YouTube video for reference. It's 8 minutes long, but can be viewed at 1.25x or 1.5x speed, just reading the captions.

Gender identity: the latest social contagion

#society #wokistan

I have since learned that social contagions are especially common among teenage girls, and that there are numerous historical precedents for this. I have written elsewhere about the Salem witch trials of 1692-93, in which a group of girls began seeing demons in the shadows and accusing members of their own community of being in league with the Devil. Then there were the various “dancing plagues” of the middle ages which seemed to impact young women in particular. In 1892, girls at a school in Germany began to involuntarily shake their hands whenever they performed writing exercises. And when I visited Sweden last year, I was told about a local village where, during the medieval period, the girls all inexplicably began to limp.
