Meanwhile.... purely for entertainment love of movies (without politics, & only a smidgeon of anti-semitism as experienced by Spielberg himself - Saw this in a theater Thanksgiving week, with a total of 5 people at a matinee on a big screen, AMC.
First in-theater film for me in years (since pre-COVID) Strange.
Nary a symptom of COVID nor flu nor RVC (thought the entire mall was a ghost town! Guessing many of the maskless masses (FL) are no longer with us, and those who are might be more keen as on watching Fox, NewsMax or anti-Truth... of a non-uplifting variety.
But I digress. Watched this on a huge-screen TV, 5 people in the theater (very well spaced; I watched with mom + 3 people way away).
The movie itself? Interesting, engaging and real, like Spielberg does, but this time it is about him, growing up with a father mostly unsupportive of his "hobby" of making films and a mother who encapsulates the life of many an actor/performer, plus suburbia, the challenges of moving a family to a new place, and a few interesting scenes where young Spielberg is getting his chops, experimenting, getting advice, and occasionally getting bullied, before gaining acclaim among his peers & soon beyond that... Lusciously filmed, natch.
Needless to say: Strong recommend - for movie buffs, certainly anyone familiar with all Spielberg's movie magic.
