COVID-19: Pitkin, CO, seeing 354 cases/100k with 81% fully vaccinated

That's a 3,285% 2-week growth rate. 32 times.

(And that's not even the highest, for those look to Puerto Rico.)

Omicron. Breaks. Through.

This from the NY Times Covid tracker.

Note that the US has shot through its all time daily new-case record as well, though this is occurring during the Christmas -- New Years interval in which reporting is rather mucked up. The 7-day or 14-day averages would normally be recommended as far more reliable, though those simply don't respond rapidly enough to track Omicron. Alternate measures such as wastewater viral loads would probably be more accurate and faster-responding, though those don't determine individuals infected.

And this, boys, girls, all that lie betwixt and beyond, and space aliens of feline or other persuasion, is why epidemiological monitoring Is Hard.
