Whoever is out there right now seems to have enough endurance to not give in to this night. Trying to avoid the looks of a cat not asleep on the couch, measuring its environment in cautious attention. So it's all about pulling a mental coat tighter, bracing for the coming cold, lighting another cigarette, unsure where "here" is, restless and homesick in another moment so short and ephemeral it's hard to even notice.
