I can't remember this ever happening before, so Elon Musk may (try to) set a dangerous precedent here. The key may now be the user agreement. Does it say that all accounts belong to the company running the platform? If yes, I would expect a large user movement away from X, because your account can be snatched by the big boss whenever he feels so.
If that statement is however not part of the user agreement and X wants to enforce that view, it would affect all users on all social media platforms. That's a can of worms even the richest person in the world may not want to open...
