Nasrin Sotoudeh, an Iranian human rights attorney, claims that "they still desire a regime change."

Many #Iranians still desire a change in the country's current government, despite the ruthless official crackdown that has put an end to the months-long demonstrations that have gripped the nation.

"The protests have somewhat subsided, but that doesn't mean that the people are no longer angry," Nasrin Sotoudeh said in an exclusive interview with CNN Chief International Anchor Christiane Amanpour on Wednesday from her home in Tehran.

"They constantly want and still want a regime change. They want a referendum." Sotoudeh is now on medical leave from prison after being given a 38-year prison term and 148 lashes in March 2019.

She is well-known around the world for fighting for the rights of Iranian activists, women, and children.
