People using self-driving cars will be allowed to watch television on built-in screens under proposed updates to the Highway Code.
The changes will say drivers must be ready to take back control of vehicles when prompted, the government said.
This can't go well. While driving we need to be reading the road constantly. To go from being embedded in a story to full awareness is something most drivers won't be able to do quickly enough. The car alerting you some seconds before switching to manual is one thing, but avoiding the truck hurtling over the central divide is another.
