Dezeen Showroom: a furniture collection designed to exude the calming nature of Japanese architecture is among nine new products featured on Dezeen Showroom this week.

Onsen furniture collection by Francesco Meda and David Quincoces for Gandia Blasco

Gandia Blasco has expanded its Onsen furniture collection to include more outdoor furniture styles, featuring tubular steel and vinyl straps designed to appear like tanned leather.

Informed by Japanese architecture and design, the contrasting materials and furniture are intended to exude calm and balance.

The Onsen furniture collection was featured on Dezeen Showroom this week, alongside a rerelease of chairs designed by Bauhaus furniture designer Erich Dieckman and a pendant light made by hand using a complex glass-blowing technique.

Curve Crown designed by Swedish design duo Front for Zero Lighting is a pendant light that borrows features from traditional library lamps.

Bauhaus chairs by Erich Dieckmann for TYP

Originally designed by seminal Bauhaus furniture designer Erich Dieckman, Austrian brand TYP has rereleased a trio of wooden chairs that feature a cubic frame and curved backrest.

The chairs have been updated by reengineering the joints and altering the size for modern use, while still preserving the proportions of the original design.

Sprinkle pendant lights in a range of colours by Zero Lighting

Sprinkle pendant lamp by Note Design Studio for Zero Lighting

Taking its name from the tiny sugary beads used to decorate cakes, the Sprinkle pendant lamp designed by Swedish brand Zero Lighting has a thin cylindrical shape and is available in a range of rainbow hues.

The lamp consists of a thin tube and five stacked rings that enclose the central LED light, which distributes the light and creates visual interest.

White Textures fabric by Dedar used as upholstery on a low chair

Textures fabric collection by Dedar

The Textures fabric collection was designed by Italian textile brand Dedar to showcase the beauty of irregularities found in natural fibres.

The collection includes a wool fabric called A Perfect Flower that has a rippled surface, as well as a Jacquard chenille called Per Inciso that contrasts soft white yarn with flecks of coloured thread.

A constellation of Twist pendant lights by Dedar hung in a staircase

Twist pendant light by Shakúff

Created by Brooklyn design studio Shakúff, the Twist pendant light is handmade by artisans using a complex glass-blowing technique.

Twist is made from a hexagonal glass tube with a rippled surface that is intended to reflect light in swirls around the room. The rippled appearance is created by twisting the glass over a hot flame, which requires a great degree of control.

Hoard Storage Tables by Blu Dot

Designed by furniture brand Blu Dot, the Hoard Storage Tables have a biomorphic shape and showcase the natural grain of wood.

The tables are available in low, medium and tall sizes and are made from solid acacia wood that can be left natural or finished in black.

Designed by Dedar to combine textiles with graphic art, the Geometric patterns collection features upholstery fabric with abstract lines and geometric patterns.

The collection includes Volver, a fabric made using the traditional technique brocatelle that results in a subtle relief on the surface.
