Mastodon is a decent platform, but this isn't intended as an ad for them. "Here" is very comfy and decentralized too. Interesting bits of info and takes on the various alternatives being sampled (e.g., BlueSKy) in the wake of the X bomb killing off the blue bird, and Twitter.
