CHOI SO-YOUNG
Choi So-Young is a #Korean contemporary #artist who uses discarded #denim, off-cuts and clothing details to produce vibrant #landscapes and #urban environments. Her compositions, formed from a medley of pockets, seams and zips, in conjunction with acrylic, lay the foundations for alleyways, highrises and vistas.
Like a game of Where’s Wally, it becomes more and more rewarding to see what you can spot: a backpocket with creases like a river’s wave; a bleached twill that reaches into the sky like a cloud-covered mountain; or simply a belt buckle balcony, resting static and unassuming in a dense Korean #cityscape.
Hey everyone, I’m kind of #newhere. After having spent close to a year just reading, I feel I'm ready to start participating. I'm a Belgian who's lived in Japan for over 30 years, and I’m interested in #vintage #denim, #linguistics, #opensource #software, #craftbeer (especially #belgianbeer), #latteart, and #rugby.
