Holding a Woman, Life, Freedom placard, a woman from Tehran showing her scarred back, flogged for the disobedience of forced hijab.

“The morality police arrested me for resisting their van. My ‘crime’ was unveiling. After months of court hearings, I was sentenced to 74 lashes. The cleric overseeing the punishment stood there to ensure it was carried out. I won’t give up my fight against this brutal regime, but we are fed up with living as prisoners in our own homeland,” she wrote to Iranian activist, instagram.com/masih.alinejad/

Under Iran's Islamic sharia law, imposed after the Islamists took over the country in 1979, women older than 9 are obliged to cover their hair and wear long, loose-fitting clothes to disguise their figures. Violators have faced punishment including arrest, flogging, fines, and suspension of civil rights like the right of education and traveling.

This fascist regime of terror must go!

Tehran’s IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) Intelligence is overseeing her case and monitoring her family and the center's staff, according to information obtained by iranintltv - instagram.com/iranintltv

Accusing women who disobey the forced hijab of dealing with "mental disorder," and falsely reframing these situations as a mental health crisis is part of the government’s playbook for suppressing hijab-related incidents, Nahid Naghshbandi, an Iran researcher at Human Rights Watch told the washingtonpost - instagram.com/washingtonpost

“They want to say that these people are not in their right mind,” she said, noting that this is a tactic used to “humiliate” women who resist wearing the hijab.

Iranian dissidents and freedom fighters are mourning the loss of #KianoushSanjanri, a man who will be remembered for his love of his country and his people.

The journalist, activist, former political prisoner, and dissident Kianoosh Sanjari, ended his life at the age of 42 in Tehran on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, “in protest against Ali Khamenei’s dictatorship and his associates.”

Activists in Iran announce that they will be gathering at Beheshte Zahra cemetery, section 250 tomorrow morning, November 15 for Kianoosh Sanjari’s funeral.

Kianoush Sanjari had pledged in a post on X the previous day that he would end his life if four political prisoners, #FatemehSepehri, #NasrinShakarami, #ToomajSalehi, and #ArshamRezaei, were not released by sunset today.

“LONG LIVE IRAN,” he closed down his post on X.

Kianoosh Sanjari suffered severe repression from the Islamic Republic regime. Born on September 11, 1982, in Tehran, Sanjari faced over ten arrests, imprisonment, and over 9 months in solitary confinement during his life.
He was only a 17-year-old art student when he was arrested and tortured the first time. After moving to the United States, he worked as a journalist at the VOA Persian before returning to Iran in 2016, where he was again arrested and sentenced to 11 years in prison. During his detainment, he also faced forced admission to the psychiatric facility.

The ultimate responsibility for what happened to him rests with the Islamic Republic regime.

Rest in peace Kianoosh Jan.

Once again, forced #hijab claims another life:
Reports from Iran indicate that 16-year-old schoolgirl #ArezooKhavari tragically ended her life by jumping from a friend’s building after being sent home from a school trip for “violating the dress code by wearing jeans” instead of the required uniform.

Her grieving father shared that this was not an isolated incident; Arezoo had faced persistent harassment from the school over her clothing choices, her friendships, and her resistance to the mandatory hijab policy.

Last year, the school had nearly refused to enroll her.
A reliable source revealed that she had even been threatened with expulsion after the vice principal submitted a video of her dancing without a hijab to the principal for disciplinary action.

In Iran, schools are gender-segregated, and girls are required to wear the hijab from the age of 7 or risk being denied an education. Strict dress code restrictions, targeting both Islamic and non-Western attire, have been enforced since the 1979 revolution. These restrictions, along with religiously based discriminatory laws, have created an environment of repression where expressions of any individual identity out of the Islamic Republic’s fascism can have life-threatening consequences.

The responsibility for Arezoo’s tragic death lies squarely with the Islamic Regime in Iran.
