At the Deutsches Museum in Munich

This is a real gem. The museum sits on an island in the city's Isar river and is one of the most exciting places to go. The focus is history and applied science and technology.

One, for sheer size (can spend a full day in there easily), and two for nifty details in architecture (roof terrace, see photo, and underground tunnels) and every exhibition (interactivity in all parts).

An excellent team is running the thing on a consistently high level.

Throwback Jan 22, 2019. A narrow parking backyard in some odd Munich hotel. Somewhat recent past compared to other old posts in here, yet from a different life. Annual kick-off event with my former company. The usual conflicting sentiments of having a good time with some great colleagues while general structure and mood in the organization already was deterioriating back then. (And, remember diving into a wholly different kind of darkness all along a lengthy conversation with the night porter in that particular place. It doesn't get more "gothic" than that.)

A narrow backyard with empty parking lots, walls, snow. There are a few windows alight, but most of the setting is night.

Deze fronsende leeuw is deel van een uitbundig beeld van een leeuw met wapenschild. De leeuwenkop hierboven zie je onderaan. Waarschijnlijk lichter van kleur doordat passanten die vaak aanraakten.

Op het centrale deel van het wapenschild is een zeilschip te zien en de Latijnse spreuk sidere qua siderite (de ster waarmee je schittert).

Boven het het zeilschip nog een boos of somber gezicht.

De Frauenkirche* (Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk) in München is blijkbaar wat gammel. Bij storm en sneeuw is er volgens het bord gevaar rondom de Dom van München.
