"That's no sunset ..."
Well, I thought it was when my son sent it to me from #Iceland today, and then I joked that it might be a new #volcano.
It is, actually, light from a new volcano in the #Reykjanes Peninsula, where all the other action has been.
The son is living (for grad school) on the north side of #Reykjavik (about 25 mi. north of #Grindavík and he said the light in the sky was visible from his apartment. He and his room mate went down to the beach to get a clearer picture.

Chicago teacher shows concern for fellow passengers

https://www.bizpacreview.com/2021/12/30/chicago-teacher-makes-most-of-four-hour-quarantine-in-planes-bathroom-after-testing-positive-midflight-1182347/

On a #flight from Newark, N.J., to #Reykjavik, Iceland, Marisa Fotieo reportedly began experiencing a sore throat, although she had tested negative several times before leaving.

She had packed some of the test kits in her carry-on bag and took one to the #bathroom to take it.

When it gave a #positive result for the virus, Fotieo said she “freaked out,” and an #Icelandair flight attendant named Rocky suggested she stay put for the time being while she sorted things out.

When it turned out that there were no empty seats on the packed flight that could provide a way to properly #isolate her from the rest of the passengers, Fotieo graciously volunteered to remain in the lavatory for the duration.
