Made this song using the Yamaha rm1x, Yamaha #SY35, #Korg #Kaossilator and Korg #Microsampler (just for the voice over). I am arranging my songs on the fly by unmuting/muting tracks, tweaking filters, volumes and so on. The Yamaha rm1x is my main unit for this. Sy35 and Microsampler are sequenced from the rm1x. Kaossilator is 'played' live.

This review compares the #sounds of a DX7, TX81z, SY35 and SY77 side by side. Over 20 years was spent creating the Off The Matrix #patches, so the review will reveal the true strengths of each of the #instruments. The first part will be a #demonstration the DX7, TX81z and SY77 playing the same patches. To my surprise the TX81z sounded better for a couple of the patches. The #video will cover the strengths of the TX81z and SY35 over the DX7. The video will end with demonstrations of the SY77 patches as well as the new SY99 samples. A #TQ5 was used to play the TX81z patches, so through much of the video the SY35 is playing the TX81z patches.

In this #jam I am using sounds from the Yamaha Rm1x of course, the #PSR4600 (is running through a 20 year old #Behringer #Virualizer #FX unit for some reverb) and the #SY35 for the background synth sound. Last but not least the #Korg #Kaossilator Mini makes some noise.

This track is called "F and M", a kind of melodic techno 1998 style #mix. For this #track I used the #FM part of the SY 35 in my #setup to shape the #bass line (didn't use the vector stuff) and the Korg Microsampler to play the #vocal #sample. As usual it is all sequenced and performed live through the rm1x.
The harmonics of the vocals are created by layering notes using the rm1x onboard midi delay and octaver. To add some depth I ran it through a #Behringer FX unit.
