...of the many very interesting subjects discussed is the unfeasibility of those massive Starforts being built with shovels and the tools that were available at the time when the official version claims they were built.
Even with the mechanical tools available today, it would very challenging, and requiring a great deal of expertise (not mention funding) to build those structures.
And they are certainly much more elaborate than the kind of structures that would be needed for protection from cannonballs.
