Watching at the #birds and #how #beautiful they are reminds me the bible verse,"

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life ? "And why do you worry about clothes? ..."

Matt. 6 Verses 25 to 33." God is with all of us. Thank you for the mesmerizing #music and breathtaking #video.

"A new #film by #AbbyMartin exposing the world's biggest polluter: the US military.
#Earth's Greatest Enemy is a new #documentary film investigating the Pentagon's catastrophic toll on the planet–from carbon emissions, to toxic dumping, to habitat destruction and more, while highlighting the struggles against it. This will be the first ever piece of media that puts every facet of the Pentagon's pollution together into one indictment. But funds are needed to complete post-production. "

And here's a chart showing the #chemical #weapons dumped at sea. Just look at how many surround the UK:

In June 1981, Karen and Richard released their 10th studio album, "Made In America," and made a world tour to promote it with appearances in Brazil and Germany. In November of that year, she and Richard returned home to California. Karen and her husband Tom Burris formally separated that same month. Shortly after Christmas, Karen moved to New York to begin treatment for her anorexia. She sought treatment with psychotherapist Steven Levenkron who was noted for his research into anorexia nervosa and self injury.

In April 1982, she took a two-week vacation from her treatment and returned home to California. She and Richard returned to the studio and recorded several songs, including this song, "Now." At the time of this recording, Karen was heavily anorexic. Richard says she had lost even more weight since the last time he had seen her the year before. Karen returned to New York and stayed there until November 1982. During a two-month stay in a hospital, she was fed intravenously and gained 30 pounds. She returned home for Thanksgiving that year. Although she felt that she was cured, Richard saw that she still didn't look well and he told her so. The additional weight of 30 pounds added back suddenly on a body that had been underweight for so many years further strained her weakened heart, and she died of #heart failure on the morning of February 4, 1983. She was just 32 years old, a month shy of her 33rd birthday.

Following Karen's death, Richard returned to the studio and worked on his and Karen's last recordings, including two of the songs she recorded in 1982 as well as other songs from previous recording sessions over the years before. The album, "Voice of the Heart" was released in October 1983, eight months after Karen's death.

" #Now" was a work lead, recorded in one take, and was intended to familiarize the musicians with the song as well as Richard's arrangement of it. After a complete #music track had been recorded, Karen would have then returned to the studio and recorded new vocals for the song. But as it was, the work lead turned out to be the last song Karen ever recorded.

There's an old legend about the swan's song - how the Mute Swan ( #Cygnus olor) which is completely mute during its lifetime until the moment just before it dies, is said to sing one #beautiful #song.

Over the years, listeners have commented on the lyrics of the song and knowing what we know now, wonder if perhaps Karen had had a premonition of what was to come. Indeed, "Now" can be said to have been Karen's " #swan #song."

Now

Now,
Now when it rains, I don't feel cold.
Now that I have your hand to hold,
The winds might blow through me
but I don't care.
There's no harm in thunder if you are there.

And now,
now when we touch, my feelings fly.
Now when I'm smiling, I know why.
You light up my world like the morning sun.
You're so deep within me, we're almost one.

And now all the fears that I had start to fade.
I was always afraid love might forget me,
love might let me down.
Then look who I found.

The winds might blow through me
but I don't care.
There's no harm in thunder if you are there.

And now, now,
now when I wake, there's someone home.
I'll never face the nights alone.
You gave me the courage I need to win,
to open my heart and to let you in.
And I never really knew how, until now,

Until now.

No, I never really knew how,
until now

Interview with John Denver About Annie's Song

John Denver is one of the most uh yeah you're gonna applaud for our band John Denver who's uh coming out right now is probably one of the most talented uh songwriters and performers in our business he'll be appearing at the Greek theater here September 21st through the 24th this is his latest album rocky mountain high would you welcome John Denver [Music] have you been very fine thank you i remember your last last time here you did a song about Toledo yep right well we heard it from a few people from toledo it was

kind of a good-natured rib at the town right oh yeah as a satirical kind of song and as a matter of fact about a week after i did that on your show here we did a concert at uh blossom music center in Cleveland Ohio and there were a lot of people what were some of the audiences what were some of those lyrics in that song Saturday night in Toledo Ohio is like being nowhere at all and it goes on from there but they didn't storm the stains no as a matter of fact that was uh that was just about my most requested song that night yeah i had a song i was gonna do for you tonight called forest lawn my i saw my producer go yeah what would i know does I beg your

partner no that's all right they didn't want you to do it I assume well i guess it's a little touchy I've done it on television a couple of times and uh and did it on an album and thought you know I've always wanted if i ever got the chance to do your show to do that song but uh I think it's a little bit we talked to some people you know they got the lyrics and everything and uh I beg your pardon you guys well oh no that's what we're looking for controversy it's okay people get upset about it guys well you have to watch things like that you know like I'm sure uh in in the interest of you people especially i

understand they're a little touchy and you have to watch what you do on television yeah you really do we got into trouble once before i don't know if i mentioned this last time when we did the I was not a polka when i was with the Mitchell trio yes who writes your songs well they're just a couple things i used to be a part of a group that that was known sort of for the satirical material they did and we're really the only people that are doing college concerts you know for those audiences that are doing that kind of material and so it's something that since I've been on my own I've tried to retain and uh I think you're

doing a good job well it goes over great for those audiences and uh sometimes you get into trouble but it's it's all in fun I've been in trouble myself is it okay if you get followed by the groupies like a lot of the young stars do the pop stars or the rock no guys that follow the follow them around all over no I really don't have any problems with that I think my musician sometimes a little disgusted with me for that i uh you know i write so many songs about my wife Annie uh goodbye again which i did last time here and leaving on a jet plane and stuff and they just they leave me alone I think

they feel that i they realize I'm pretty comfortable at home somebody had to ask me to ask you about a experience you had i don't know whether they're putting me on something that happened during your honeymoon yeah uh god I'll never live this down uh ann and i got married about five and a half years ago and uh we went out to phoenix Arizona for our honeymoon uh we were at a trailer camp with uh where her grandparents had stayed you know an old people's uh uh retirement village exactly and uh while we were there one night I'd gone out to see some friends and uh and ended up doing a little guest head at a

nightclub out there and Annie was feeling kind of poorly and i started getting worried about her you know and asked if she wanted to go home no she didn't want to and so the evening progressed and finally she did feel bad enough that we took her home and as she kept getting worse and worse and you know this we've been married like two or three days and i was getting very concerned we went by the hospital i said now listen kid you want me to take you in and she says no no so we went on we got to uh we got to the trailer and uh went to bed and she couldn't even undress she couldn't lie down you know and i was i said okay

that's it I'm taking you to the doctor so we called the emergency room went there they couldn't figure out what it was they gave her some pain pills and decided that they would set up an appointment to see a doctor the next morning which we did went to see the doctor went through this whole thing and uh and Annie was in there it seemed like years you know and pretty soon she came out and wouldn't tell me anything just pay the bill we'll go and i was getting nervous and we got outside i said well what's the matter she says well i was in there and and the doctor was examining me there was a nurse standing there and he says

what are you doing in Phoenix Annie she says well we just got married uh been married a couple of days and we're having our honeymoon here oh is that right how long did you say you've been married just two days well Annie uh I'll be honest with you i think this love making has gotten a bit much for you i think your husband's cracked your rib you tiger you huh well you know she's walking around with a cracked rib and didn't know it yeah and i of course she was embarrassed to

death you know the nurse was standing there giggling and you were standing there going yeah sure i mean i started bragging maybe you're doing it wrong i never thought about it hey we've talked about this on the show before to other people everybody they're probably more amateur songwriters in this country everybody thinks they can write a song and they sit down and they send it away to be published and of course they can get it published uh does it come easy for you no sir it's it's really uh every once while a song will be kind of

easy but but they're very few and far between you know when I get the mood to write a song and though I've I think my what reputation whatever I have is based mostly on on having written songs like leaving on a jet plane follow me and stuff they really are very few and far between and I consider myself primarily a a performer an entertainer you know there are a lot of singer-songwriters around today it seems you know that's really the kind of music that that people are interested in now but there aren't any other ones that uh that would do things by other artists on their albums nobody does uh it's a

Cinetella lie anymore that's such a great sign that's a wonderful song and uh but but I like to write songs i really feel good about having that avenue of expression this is next you're going to do for us after we do this is your new single right yes sir is this one you wrote yes sir i wrote it uh in January and uh the single is called hard life hard times but uh when I wrote the Annie's song the way it is on the album there uh it's called prisoners it's about prisoners of war good love to hear it when we come back all right we'll do this first uh we'll be back with John Denver dom Delaware and peter final will join us shortly.
