Today's feature animal is ready for the Carnival Parade! Named the Ocellated Turkey, this stunning bird resides primarily in the Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico, as well as in parts of Belize and Guatemala. A generalist in terms of its feeding habits, it is known  to feed on a wide variety of forage. It spends most of the time on the ground and often prefers to run to escape danger rather than fly, though they can fly swiftly and powerfully over short distances. Roosting is usually high in trees away from night-hunting predators.
