The Little Prince - by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Enjoying some ongoing discussion of "one book to recommend", which has (on Twitter) included some great novels and authors spanning years and genres. My pick, trying to be broad-based rather than reflecting some childhood and college favorites, was The Little Prince / "Le Petit Prince*. It is an ode to wonder, I'd frame it, and thinking outside the box, from either a child's sense of awe or a far-removed perspective (like a little prince from an asteroid the size of a house).

Lots of discussion about this book and suggestions (fromTolkien to Bible to Color Purple, Hemingway, and Anne Frank.
And discussion about the MANY adaptations in film (animations) and television, and the movie trailer I'd posted. So here -
already posted to a shared of my original post and so added here now, easily viewed "here" or full-screen via YouTube....

The entire book, with illustrations, and narration by Kenneth Branagh. Enjoy.

Yay, I am SO happy, I found a new illustration / #painting technique I now am sure, I'll use again - and often!

I've tried many and I like many techniques and the styles they generate but this #illustration now really turned out exactly like I had it in mind when I did the initial sketch!

Most of the time the pictures I paint/draw somehow evolve whilst painting/drawing and the outcome is fitting the purpose but this is different.
For once I - as a pefrectionist who often ends up complaning and whining over my own pictures - am proud and don't have that much to complain about!

(Gosh, yeah, it's not easy charging money for your work when you're yourself's biggest critic.)

Enjoy :)
