Ein Frosch sah einen Ochsen gehen.
Wie stattlich war der anzusehen!
Er, der nicht größer als ein Ei, war neidisch drauf,
Er spreizt sich, bläht mit Macht sich auf,
Um gleich zu sein dem großen Tier,
Und rief: »Ihr Brüder achtet und vergleicht!
Wie, bin ich nun so weit? Ach, sagt es mir!« –
»Nein!« – »Aber jetzt?« – »Was denkst du dir!« –
»Und jetzt?« – »Noch lange nicht erreicht!« –
Das Fröschlein hat sich furchtbar aufgeblasen,

The tenant of a bog,
An envious little frog,
Not bigger than an egg,
A stately bullock spies,
And, smitten with his size,
Attempts to be as big.
With earnestness and pains,
She stretches, swells, and strains,
And says, 'Sis Frog, look here! see me!
Is this enough?' 'No, no.'
'Well, then, is this?' 'Poh! poh!
Enough! you don't begin to be.'
And thus the reptile sits,
Enlarging till she splits.
The world is full of folks
Of just such wisdom;--
The lordly dome provokes
The cit to build his dome;
And, really, there is no telling
How much great men set little ones a swelling.

✨ :: 47-53 [AL] Winter Weekend ::

Here's a piece following this season's festivities! I've never eaten a Yule Log before, but I do love Swiss rolls.

This drawing features some of the kiddos from my 'Another Life' story. It's basically a spin-off where all my OCs from all my stories coexist.

From left, kiddos who are present are Shintaro, Sindri, Manel and the ones not facing us is Rosa, Piht, and Rocío. Idun and Thiazi are not here. The one serving the Yule Log is Terenzio. Outside through the window, we can see Adrià (Manel's dad) inviting Shin's parents in (yes, Shin had excitedly run off to see his friends).

None of them have ever seen Yule Log cakes, so it makes one wonder where this could have come from.

And just like with Sugar Skulls, I realised that I failed to make the food item as the focus of the drawing, again. It's in the centre, yes, but kinda small and surrounded by other 'bigger' things. But ehh idk.

P/S: Originally, I was hoping to make a big one featuring my RO duo and my own OCs (the main ones) that might total to 12 or so people; but that was a bit too ambitious and I'm kinda drained from life events. So, I scrapped that idea. :< Yet, here I am drawing a picture that has 10 people. I do not understand my actions, haha. x'D

Küß mich! / Kiss Me!

Once upon a time, on a quiet summer's evening an old man was rowing an old boat across an ancient lake.
A little frog jumped up onto the end of the boat, and the frog said to the old man:
"Old man, if you kiss me, I will turn into a beautiful young princess and you can do whatever you want with me."
And the old man smiled at the frog and kept on rowing his old boat across the ancient lake.
And the frog said again:
"Old man, if you kiss me I will turn into a beautiful young princess and you can do whatever you want with me."
And the old man smiled and looked at the frog and carried on rowing his old boat across the ancient lake.

And there was a long silence while the guitar played.

Man in a Boat

The frog said to the old man: "Old man, why won't you kiss me?"
The old man looked at the frog and stopped rowing his old boat across the ancient lake, put his hands in the air and shrugged his shoulders and said: "At my age I'd rather have a talking frog."
