Here’s some very good info about preparing #pumpkin and it’s value, by French man Lokmane #Benaicha, who’s been studying in #China for over a decade. Thank you Bruce Bentley to bringing it to my attention!

It’s about treating #COUGH. There’s another recipe with #ginger, #turnip etc as well.

Medicinal recipes for cough due to #cold wind
The cough may be due to the pathogenic cold wind (to be distinguished from the hot wind with sore throat), which causes the Qi (energy / vital breath) of the lungs to stagnate, preventing it from diffusing the protective Qi from the lungs. Here are two simple recipes to treat coughing due to cold wind.
Pumpkin has a warming nature, is sweet in flavor, humidifies the lungs and strengthens Qi (energy / vital breath), transforms phlegm, evacuates pus, drives out worms and detoxifies and is it excellent for coughs and asthma.

Ingredients:
250 grams of pumpkin
15 grams honey

Preparation: boil the pumpkin until it becomes a puree, let cool and add the honey.
Consume 50 grams on an empty stomach, morning, noon and evening

Ginger frees the surface and promotes sweating, it warms the lungs and stops coughing, it can evacuate excess heat as well as pathogenic microbes and cold energy.
"navet in french" daikon contains a lot of proteins, lipids and calcium, it has a good function of strengthening the digestion and stops cough. It can also be used for dry sore throat due to cough and heat of the lungs, hoarse voice, etc.

Ingredients:
500 grams of white turnip (daikon) of
30 grams of ginger
30 grams of honey

Preparation: remove the skins and cut the daikon and ginger into pieces, put everything in a blender and add the honey at the end.
