L'ignorance de l'état de la #science est la clé
J'ai réitéré cette année ma très simple expérience de détection Bluetooth (il faut évidemment activer le listage des "appareils inconnus") dans un lieu de fête avec des centaines de personnes autour (grosse majorité de vaccinés).....même résultat que l'an passé, entre 50 et 80++ adresses #MAC #Bluetooth.
Adresses dont la majeure partie ne correspond à aucun fabricant connu (liste O.U.I.), sachant, si je ne me gourre pas, qu'une entreprise achetant des plages d'adresses MAC peut rester anonyme, cachée, non-listée, en payant 3500$/an (il a quelques années il y en avait environ 300 dans ce cas-là).

Et il y a des gens qui ont fait des expériences plus précises, eux.....

Hacking BLE to Liberate your Exercise Equipment eg for the Domyos EL500 elliptical trainer

It’s a story we’ve heard many times before: if you want to get your data from the Domyos EL500 elliptical trainer, you need to use a proprietary smartphone application that talks to the device over Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE). To add insult to injury, the only way the software will export your workout information is by producing a JPG image of a graph. This just won’t do, so Juan Carlos Jiménez gives us yet another extensive write-up, which provides an excellent introduction to practical BLE hacking.

Yes, the process may seem like a bit more effort, but it could have three major potential advantages:

  • If the supplier decides to no longer support the app or device, or goes out of business, this won’t affect the hack.
  • It looks like some additional data may even be able to be extracted.
  • Your data need not be captured and read by the app any longer, meaning increased privacy.

The project is not yet completed though, as it seems the data capture and analysis is still being worked on. Looks like a project well worth keeping an eye on.

The unpacking and analysis of how the BLE GATT comms works is also very interesting.

#BLE, Matter, Thread, and #Zigbee are supported now as well.

After its introduction almost two years ago, Espressif's 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6-capable SoC, the ESP32-C6, is finally available (and shipping!) on their AliExpress store. There are limited quantities of standalone modules and complete development boards, but developers can finally get their hands on them!

The #hardware defects, on the other hand, stem from the fact that both Wi-Fi and #BLE components are often integrated together into a specialized "combo chip," effectively subjecting Bluetooth to the same set of metrics that can be used to uniquely #fingerprint Wi-Fi devices: carrier #frequency offset and IQ imbalance.

"Der Pro-Kopf-Verzehr von Fleisch lag 2020 mit 57,3 Kilogramm so niedrig wie noch nie seit Berechnung des Verzehrs im Jahr 1989. Das geht aus den vorläufigen Angaben der Versorgungsbilanz Fleisch des Bundesinformationszentrums Landwirtschaft (BZL) hervor. Insgesamt wurde im Jahr 2020 Fleisch mit einem Schlachtgewicht von 8,5 Millionen Tonnen erzeugt – rund 1,6 Prozent weniger als im Vorjahr."
