The more the merrier...

Late Monday evening, just before midnight, these two little rescue hedgehogs - a boy and a (very shy) girl - were set free on the premises after being cared for and looked after at @saijaszoo until now. Energetic and lively little critters !
Our current hedgehog gang has already proved that the little forest area right next to the 🐾Team Sintti HQ🐾 is quite suitable and safe for them to live in. Whether or not these guys choose to stick around or roam elsewhere is, of course, all up to them - but if they do stay, I´m completely prepared to watch over and feed them for the rest of summer and through autumn. At the moment both the kids weigh about half a kilo each and will need to almost double that to survive the Finnish winter. For me, it would be a great honour to help turn these little cuties into spiky, fat blobs... 🤣
Now we´ll just have to wait and see what happens !

▫Dinner With Mom▫

Yes, folks... after keeping this under wraps for about a month now, I am soooo happy to let you know that our gorgeous lady 🦔Aksu🤎 is a mother !!!
I can vouch for two young ones, possibly there are three. We have danced a very delicate choreography to come to this point where the kids join their Mom here for dinner and even show up in the darkness alone At first it seemed impossible, as neither Aksu or myself could not convince the little ones to come to our little "restaurant" - and I completely understand their instincts, as it is quite an open place.
Therefore, a "Plan B" was urgently needed. Every time Aksu came in for a meal, I knew the youngins were close too and took a few small bowls of food under the hedge fence. At first that scared the hell out of Aksu, but soon the she realized that I wasn´t "going after" her kids and the system ended up working just fine.
The picture you see here - shot hastily from my door - is actually the very first one I´ve taken of one of the kids since I immediately decided not to bother them any more than is absolutely necessary.. But there will be more, I think we´re going to be friends In fact, I already know it. Stay tuned.

Needless to say, I am ecstatic for all of this as it is something I have worked for and hoped and dreamed about for two years now. In fact, I kinda feel like a proud grandfather or godfather or whattheheckever... for me, this is bliss.
