I am getting sick and tired of the waste of money, every damn piece of fruit i buy, has been picked unripe and hard, and they pretend they will ripen when you buy them and have them at home.
Bought some Nectarines, the nice yellow flesh type, (packaged in a load of plastic) hard as stones, now a few days later they start to become wrinkled while the flesh still is hard(ish) an sour.
This is happening more and more, melons of every kind, going rotten before getting even near ripe, peaches and other comparable fruits being the largest problem, plums being one of those.
Stop picking them green, give us fruits that we can eat!!
Apples & pears are less of a problem, if you neglect the stupid expensive 'new' brands that have less taste than a glass of water (Pink Lady for example) where the older species are taste bombs.
Berries also get picked near of when ripened, but way to much food goes to waste this way :-(

The #pollinators have done their job with the #apple #tree. There are now many nascent #fruit on it clumped in groups of about four to five. Here's a close up of one.

Elsewhere, the #potato #plants are flowering. Maybe you don't associate nice #flowers with a food plant but I think these look rather pretty.
