Interesting if true. Interesting anyhow.

Trump's cash grab from his supporters is coming at a high cost: report

FTA: According to a report from Bloomberg, Donald Trump's fundraising operation is still bringing in massive amounts of cash...

[However,]

... the latest filings with the Federal Election Commission show that the former president's fundraising arm spent "91 cents to raise every dollar" it took in during the third quarter.

[Did Trump's team have any hand in generating these numbers? If so, then they are clearly fiction.]

... "How much those appeals raised canโ€™t be calculated from Trumpโ€™s filings, since he doesnโ€™t have to itemize contributions for donors who give less than $200, and they accounted for $9.8 million of Trumpโ€™s third-quarter haul...

[Well that answers that.]

The suffering is the point, and the victims love it.

His campaign is over. But Trumpโ€™s political groups are still spending donor money at his properties.

People (and Republicans) were (or pretended to be) horrified when Trump won the Republican nomination back in 2016 (or was it 2015?). Some of us on the left were also tentatively, quietly gleeful. "The Republicans have really fucked themselves! This bozo can never win!" But we also had worries. "What if he actually wins?? Nah. It could never happen. That's crazy!" Some Republicans expressed similar sentiments. "He will be a stain on our party."

But the truth was very different. Trump is the perfect Republican; the Uber-Republican: Ignorant, greedy, ruthless, completely unconcerned about the welfare of others, and utterly, perfectly psychopathic; willing to wrap himself in religion, the flag, racism, sexism, any -ism necessary to get what he wants at the expense of others. In a phrase, pure evil.

And worst of all, it worked. The Republican base literally worships him. He is their god. Republicans were were worried that Trump would be a stain on their party, but instead the Republican base love him; they worship him. They demonstrated that they are not afraid or ashamed of the worst of the Republican Party. On the contrary, all those horrible things are precisely what they embrace about the Republican Party. The more of those quality a Republican leader expresses, the better. The more suffering they cause, the better.

The Republican base proved themselves to be even worse than the Republican leadership imagined. "They like this??" was the silent question every Republican in congress asked themself. A few were horrified that the answer was a resounding yes! But the majority quietly celebrated: We are free to live out our most horrific fantasies, and these people will only worship us for it.

They realized the Unites States of America can be Hell, and they can be its masters. And that is how they have conducted themselves ever since: Their philosophy is now, The more people we hurt, kill, starve, render homeless, deny healthcare, and imprison, the more our base will love us.

This is now their single-minded goal, and Trump continues to lead the charge

FTA: Save America, the leadership PAC where former president Donald Trump is asking loyalists to direct their political contributions, paid for lodging about two dozen times in the first six months of 2021.

Nine of those times, the payments went to properties owned by the former president, according to a filing made public on Saturday. All told, the PAC sent at least $68,000 to the Trump Hotel Collection, showing how the real estate mogul โ€” long after ending his presidential campaign and leaving office โ€” continues to use donor money at his own properties.

Make America Great Again PAC, a repurposed campaign account, spent about $200,000 on office and restaurant space in Trump Tower, according to its filing for the first half of the year. Trump Victory, a joint fundraising committee for the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee, separately has spent $2,200 at Trump properties so far this year, according to a filing by that committee. And a Trump-backed PAC overseen by Corey Lewandowski, his 2016 campaign manager, paid $21,810 to rent space at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J., it reported on Saturday.

... Since Trump entered the presidential race in June 2015, he has used his political campaigns and associated committees to pump more than $19 million into his own businesses, according to a Washington Post analysis of federal campaign-finance records.

Trump is stealing from his followers and they love him for it. He is the Perfect Republican.

As a psychologist I know no cure for this grave social ill. Trump wants to kill everyone, and everyone wants to let assist him.

Perhaps a species like this should simply be left to the whims of evolution. She will solve the problem by and by.
