It’s not the first time that the controversial #fashion label has appropriated everyday items and used them as farshun, having released a replica of the big blue Ikea bag for a cool $2,847 back in 2017. Fortunately the #Balenciaga chip bag is a little more reasonable at $2,750.

Handbag ‘smaller than a grain of salt’ sells for over $63,000

The New York art collective MSCHF has created a "Microscopic Handbag," based on a Louis Vuitton design, which sold for over $63,000 at auction. The bag, less than 0.03 inches wide, was made using two-photon polymerization, a 3D-printing technology for micro-scale parts. The handbag, smaller than a grain of sea salt, was sold with a microscope for viewing. MSCHF, known for its provocative art projects, suggests this creation is a commentary on the fashion industry's trend towards impractical, brand-signifying mini bags.

This video covers the mysterious and reoccurring #handbag. It's also found in Olmec & Māori cultures. There's a #NewZealand legend of three baskets of wisdom.

Quote I was initially sceptical of this topic, but what I found during my investigation is truly astonishing. Several Sumerian carvings include depictions of handbag-like-shaped items. But this isn't just found in Mesopotamia, it is all over the world. In New Zealand Maori art, Dogon wall painting, American petroglyphs, the #ancient ruins of #Turkey and even remote islands like Sumba, the same symbol appears far and wide. There is no doubt....the world was once connected.
