Hi Diasporians (kein Plan ob das euch alle richtig anspricht). Wie dem auch sei, da wk3.org bald die Pforten schließt habe ich hier schnell einen neuen Hafen gefunden. Da schonmal many thx dapor.net. Ich bin alles andere als #neuhier auf Diaspora. Mein erster D*-Hafen war #joindiaspora, von da schipperte ich weiter zu #wk3 und nun lege ich hier an. Was für ein #Smartphone kann man empfehlen, das lange #Updates bekommt? Vom Hersteller. Ich selbst benutze #LineageOS, aber da gibt es immer mal irgendwelche Probleme und das möchte ich dem technisch unversierten Famlilenmitglied nicht in die Hand drücken.

Darty a comme beaucoup d'autres un "market place" sur son site internet. À la recherche d'informations sur les ordiphones vendus chez eux je suis tombée sur ceci :

Je vous fais pas toute la liste, il y en a plein !
Back Market n'est pas de reste sur le sujet :
* Vodafone sous Android 5.1 (Lollipop)
* Microsoft Lumia

Et j'imagine qu'ils ne sont pas les seuls...
Vous me direz que vu les prix, faut pas s'attendre a des miracles non plus. Mais entre miracle et service minimum il y a une marge ?
Réfléxions :
* Que fait la DGCCRF, puisque nous sommes dans de la vente mensongère : "Smartphone" vendus périmés...
* Pourquoi ne pas travailler avec des /e/ ou iodé pour reconditionner complètement ces téléphones en changeant aussi le système ?
* Apparemment il y a beaucoup de vieux, très vieux téléphone dont il faut se débarasser...

LineageOS 18.1 (Android 11) is now available for the original Google Pixel and Pixel XL

After releasing LineageOS 18.1 based on Android 11 for the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite, Moto G100, and Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (LTE) late last month, the LineageOS team has added three more devices to the LineageOS 18.1 build roster. Official builds of LinageOS 18.1 based on Android 11 are now available for the original Google Pixel, Pixel XL, and the Redmi Note 8/Redmi Note 8T.

I also see on the site that the newer Pixel 2 and upwards phones, are also supported (which no longer get updates from Google). Just note this is a custom ROM, which should just work fine, but the initial installation requires some extra steps, and you lose your existing data. If the Pixel was an iPhone, it would still be getting updates…

Je viens de faire passer un Samsung A5 (2016) sur /e/ de #efoundation.
Je m’emmêle toujours les doigts avant d'atteindre proprement le recovery, mais en vrai, c'est très simple.

Par contre, la maintenance par lineage OS, de ce téléphone, est finie : il n'est plus officiellement supporté.
Je sais bien que ce téléphone est vieux, pourtant il fonctionne encore très bien et j'ai l'impression qu'il y en a quelques-uns encore en circulation...
Même sans mises à jour à partir d'aujourd'hui, c'est toujours mieux que les A5 vendus (a des prix imbattables) sur #BackMarket avec une Rom Android datant de Mathusalem ;D (android 7, dernière mise à jour date de 4 ans)

And despite being a very alpha work in progress, it shows a lot of promise. Most of the core hardware components, such as the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and the audio output are functional. The cellular radio is working too, which means you could flash the ROM on the device and technically use it as a backup phone, provided your carrier has yet to phase out 3G completely. Last but not least, SELinux is set as enforced in the release.

Nombrilisme !

Je suis super fière de mon fond d'écran pour mon téléphone (sous #LineageOS soit dit en passant). C'est, en fait celui d'un des fonds d'écran de mon ordinateur (dans une version que j'ai donc siglé #Mageia parce que c'est ma distribution) adapté pour la téléphone. La liseuse a aussi une version mondrianesque, mais en tons de gris. Le tout dessiné avec #Inkscape.
