Mein erster Audiocast: Zur Zeit höre ich sehr gern die Musik Jamaicas der 60er Jahre, die zum Teil sehr politisch ist (dazu mehr in einem anderen späteren Eintrag). Ich wollte den inzwischen klassischen gewordenen Sound verbinden mit der Gegenwart und konnte dabei feststellen, dass es viele Musikgruppen gibt, die die Musik jener Zeit fortleben lassen und diese weiter entwickeln. Insbesondere schon deswegen, weil der Rocksteady, eine Musikrichtung aus der Dritten Welt, nicht aus England oder den USA stammend, vor genau fünfzig Jahren seinem Höhepunkt entgegen strebte. All diese Musik stammt aus Downtown, wie man die Armutsviertel bei der BBC gerne hochnäsig bezeichnet hat und wohl noch bezeichnet. Ghetto wäre ein passenderer Begriff. Genug des Exkurses.
