Installing panels on a roof again, hopefully 20 today. Just built a scaffold to help as these are heavy and quite large. The panels are rated for 1,000 volts, even though they only make 45 volts maximum, they are strung together 10 at a time for 450 volts. This keeps wiring size small as low voltage wiring is monstrously huge and would carry massive current that could cause a fire. This is why I really love high voltage. Easy to work with and cheap. But safety and quality installation is required, or it will kill me in an instant. With the 20 panels installed, I should have 450 volts at 20 amperes, enough to fast charge the car and other big appliances at the same time. Add that up at what utility companies charge per kilowatt hour and it can easily be several hundred dollars a month that won't be a monthly bill.
Fuck Wall Street owned utilities
