For the last 10 years the number of starlings doing their wonderful murmurations
has been dwindling, from thousands of birds down to a few hundred... I wonder if
EMF radiation plays a part in this phenomena...

Tragic & a portent, unless we (again) become mindful about environment and both human & nonhuman nature. The European starlings are those little guys scampering all over NYC & area in parks & on streets alongside pigeons. Seems -pardon the metaphor - like a canary in a coal mine., as are the coral in the sea.
Check out this short summary on the state of #birds which were abundant until recently.
There are 600 million fewer birds in Europe than 40 years ago.

Declines are attributed to the destruction of the birds' habitats by intensive farming & loss of breeding grounds.
We need transformative action to tackle the nature and climate crises. 🎶🔊#DemVoice1 #Fresh https://t.co/hkkiVoXt6c
Scientists study secrets of starling murmurations | BBC News
The sight of hundreds of starlings swooping and diving in unison at dusk is one of the wonders of nature.
Scientists and naturalists have marvelled at how the birds make shape-shifting clouds, known as murmurations.
Researchers in Italy have undertaken the most detailed analysis yet of the physics of these aerial stunts.
Their mathematical model suggests starlings copy other birds' flight paths and only make small speed fluctuations.

#Starlings don't reside in the vicinity of the #garden and so are only seen passing by on occasions. But they do tend to move in groups and so it's common to see several of them at a time.

#Birds naturally tend to move rapidly around the area and so it is sometimes difficult to be able to record the various species passing by. I often see #starlings around but not often in the #garden. In this first #photograph, you can see three of them sharing a fence with two #sparrows and a mystery bird. These #pictures span no more than about three minutes of time.
Here's more detail of the bird whose species I don't know along with its mate. Can anybody help identify it?
A minute later this #Jay arrived and because it's a predator, the other birds soon vacated the area but you could hear them sounding alarms to others. You can see that its #feathers are ruffled and so I think it has recently been in some sort of altercation.
