My Steampunk Googles.
I originally bought these because the heavy pollen in the air was killing my eyes. And then Covid hit. Stupid people where I live (Bloody Red Republicans) weren't wearing masks! And they weren't getting vaccinated! So, I also started wearing them to protect my eyes from Covid and other viruses when I went out among people.
I live in 'The Land of You're On Your Own.'
COVID can cause eye infections. Like many other viruses, COVID can cause conjunctivitis, or “pink eye.” This happens when the virus infects the outer layer of the eye, called the conjunctiva. COVID conjunctivitis is the most common eye problem the COVID virus causes.
There are different color lenses available. You simplly remove one lens and replace it with another. I have clear, blue and pink. When I need to read things, such as when I'm checking out at a grocery store, there's a handy magnify glass on one pair that I have. Those are really cool, and I live the little extras in the design. I'm serious about staying alive and healthy!

Eigentlich wollte ich ja Kostümprobe und Fotos bei Sonnenschein machen, aber da die Sonne schon seit Wochen nicht mehr wirklich zu sehen war, haben wir eine Regenpause genutzt. Mein Kostüm für das M'era Luna ist also soweit fertig geworden und ich freue mich wahnsinnig darauf..
Actually, I wanted to do costume rehearsals and photos in the sunshine, but since the sun hadn't really been out for weeks, we used a rain break. So my costume for the M'era Luna is finished and I'm really looking forward to it..

Das M'era Luna steht ja schon fast vor der Tür und ich brauche einen neuen Hut. Vorgestern habe ich angefangen, den Korpus zu bauen, gestern den Korpus mit Moosgummi beklebt (Toluol rockt, btw.) und heute habe ich 650 künstliche Nietenköpfe aus dem 3D-Drucker gezogen und 648 mit insgesamt 5 Tuben Sekundenkleber aufgeklebt. Mein Handy kennt mich nicht mehr und ich werde wohl die nächsten 3 Monate keine Fingerabdrücke hinterlassen, aber ich habe mich nicht aussichtlos festgeklebt, das ist doch schon was. Nachher noch den Rohling im Schuppen grundieren, dann kann Morgen die erste Lage Schwarz drauf.
Yesterday I finished the podcast series / audiobook series "Jane Eyre", the #steampunk edition, by Charlotte Brontë and R.A. Harding.
This is the first time I listened to an audiobook-series and actually followed it. I love it. It's amazingly well done.

I was really blown away by this edition, and how well the narrator managed to keep the voices of all the different characters correct and separate. I can't even start to think how difficult that was; there were over a dozen voices over al.
Who's ready for #NYE2022? This elaborate Victorian alarm clock prompted people to think about the shortness of life. When the alarm bell chimed, a small card running up the skeleton’s spinal column retracted to make the jaw open and the eyes roll.
