I know I am crazy, but couldn't help myself!

Last week we had a pretty heavy wind and rain storm that broke a few of the plants/trees at the park next door. One of them is the large beautiful tree with gorgeous white flowers that lost one of it's branches.

Today I asked the gardener if I could take it and he said OK and wanted to help me cut it, but I had Mellie with me and couldn't carry it with me, so I went back in the afternoon, cut it off from the tree (it was hanging and barely connected to the tree), remove about 10-12 of the leaves and then wrapped it together and put it in a bag I brought with me.

I will send more pictures of it at home, but it ended up being a bigger challenge that I expected and it is MUCH too big for my littler balcony. But if I am lucky and manage to get it rooted, it is going to be an amazing addition for my future house.

Last year, I took a cutting from a tree on the street and let it root in a pot at home.

It was attacked by aphids really badly earlier this year and I was afraid it would not bloom. But to my surprise, it has produced lovely flowers.

We had these in southern Iran where I was born, and their name is pretty funny "khar zahre" which literary means the poison of a donkey, or poisonous donkey.

They are supposed to deter mosquitoes. I hope it's true.

Going to take cuttings of white and red ones too so I have all the 3 colors for our future home.

PS. It's growing in a 5L water bottle turned into self watering planter.

I may have a mulberry tree soon!

We used to have a giant Mayberry tree in the middle of our house in Tehran.

The white malberry is not that common in Europe bur here in south of France, there are plenty of red ones.

Remember my surprise to find a really large tree right outside the entrance of the office of Texas Instruments where I was a contractor. I picked bags full of fruits to the surprise of my coworkers who would not touch those because they were afraid they are poisonous.

Last week when I went to Lidl, I saw malberry tree on the street and took a cutting with me when I came home.

Cleaned it, cut it properly and put it in the soil hoping it will growe.

Today I saw something on it that looks like it's going to grow . I'm so excited and will be thrilled to have a tree in our future house so I can enjoy delicious, juicy and sweet Tooth as we call it in Farsi.
