WE NEED YOUR HELP to make diaspora* better

diaspora* is improved and run entirely by community members who volunteer their time and expertise. That means that anyone can join in!

There are some pull requests which have never been finished, so if you'd like to help tidy these up and get them ready to be merged, please adopt a pull request.

There are two important ongoing tasks we would really welcome some help with:

Both of these code refactor tasks would be suitable for someone new to the diaspora* project, so if you'd like to help, let us know.

Bugs we'd love some help with:

There are also some open issues regarding our project website, which is a much simpler Rails 4 app than the main diaspora* app, and as such is a good way for newcomers to have a go at developing for Ruby on Rails.

  • If you want to work on a particular issue that is already on Github, just post on the thread for that issue to discuss the issue first or to 'claim' the issue.
  • You can visit our IRC development channel to chat about how to take part in development or any problems you’re having solving the problem you’re tackling.
  • Alternatively, post to the diaspora-dev mailing list.

If you do decide to join in and ask a question or make a pull request, please be patient for a reply, because our core contributors will want to take some time off as well. But we will get back to you, and all help offered is hugely appreciated!

Thanks in advance for helping to make diaspora* better!
