#Sunset 21/12/24 Happy Solstice! Didn't get much above 2c today with sun and lots of wind.
Ruby and I got a couple of long walk in. Total of about 11km.
Walked over to a local dog park, but alas there were no others willing to brave the 'cold' afternoon.
I can barely fill in for other canines to play tag.

Ruby and I went for a walk at a local nature preserve.
It's pretty easy. 3km Flat asphalt walkway, with an optional 1km dirt loop path.
We usually take the loop both ways.
It was a grey day with just a few folks out walking.
In the distance I noticed a disturbance coming towards us.
It was a group of four small kids wearing roller skates. They were not very proficient, they also had an adult handler looking at a phone.
Hmmm, excitable little dog who has issues with wheeled things being presented with a noisy bunch of wheeled kids.
We decided to take a side trail for a moment. As the kids approached I heard them, Outside voices, talking.
"Every time we see a doggie, they disappear", and then "Where did they go?"
After they passed we came out of the side path. "There they Are!".
The rest of the walk was pretty quiet.

It has been a good week for #Sunset pictures. Today's, 9/12/24 was pretty good.
The grey rainy skies of the morning cleared after noon. The rest of the week is up for speculation as the forecast is calling for more rain.

#Sunset 6/12/24 Little pink cloud. About half of the orange plastic fence has been taken down and the paths are completed.
A bit more grading, replacement of the chain link around the baseball backstop, and putting the barbecue grills and picnic tables.

#Sunset 24/11/25 Managed to get out of the house for a dog walk before dark.
The park walkways have been paved and hope the orange fencing comes down before the end of the year.
The kids are going to love it. Lots of bike and scooter riding is going to happen.

#AsSeenWalking Sunset 13/11/24 travelers in the sky heading west. The park near my house has been undergoing a transformation for a couple of months. Paths and paved areas are being added for accessibility. It's been just grass and play fields for decades.

Welp, I was wrong about missing a #Sunset tonight 9/6/24. Didn't have time to get to usual spot, but these were pretty good.

Too early for sunset, but the clouds were nice, very breezy so the clouds wave back.
Got a picture of cloud iridescence, which is also nice. I've seen several examples online lately and I guess it was my turn.

Haven't used them for a long time. Heard they had some issues, but maybe they got them fixed up.
Nah, 3 hour wait for...reasons. We should get there today.
Sigh, at least there's food and stuff. Got to use my camea.

The edges of the park have high 'do not touch' factor. Thorns and poison ivy. It keeps the people on the grass.

The raspberry bushes are all in bloom,. Devilish things with nasty thorns, the birds like them.
And then I startled a Yellow Crowned Night Heron, who flew up on a branch and posed.

I went to the Kennedy Center last night to see Chris Thile and the National Symphony.
Nice program. Some Dvořák, Bach, Ellington, Punch Brothers, Pete Seegar, Beethoven , Caroline Shaw, and an extended piece of his called Attention!.
Attention! was sort of the story of Nickle Creek's big break getting their cd's in Starbucks ( remember back when they sold cd's ). Also his meeting Carrie Fisher.
Nice evening. The sunset with Rosslyn VA from the Kennedy Center terrace was nice too.
